»ã±¨ÌáÒª£ºSinglet fission (SF) is a down-conversion photophysical process, in which a singlet exciton splits into a spin-correlated multiexciton, followed by dissociation into two independent states. Conventionally, SF has been mediated through the intermolecular interaction that has been realized only in a few molecules, which are, however, not efficient enough for practical applications. We propose to manipulate the planarity of thienoquinoid-based compounds by adjusting electron push-pull effects in aim of designing new materials for SF. Following this design principle, a few compounds have been synthesized as candidates and characterized by ultrafast spectroscopy in this study.
