½²×ùÌáÒª£º

After being a professor for more than 24 years in the University of Washington, I have greatly enjoyed my academic career and fortunately graduated more than 27 Ph.D. students and 40 M.S. students. Even though there is no golden rules on successful academic research or academic career endeavors, I do have some personal observations on making this process a much more enjoyable and effective path. More specifically, I will share with you some important features to ensure fruitful academic research, getting ready and jumping into research, persistence in research, and paper publication. Then followed by some useful tips for academic career building, such as how to survive as a junior faculty, getting involved in the professional community, creating impact and shifting research direction, etc. This talk is intended for most graduate students or junior faculty for their seeking of useful experience toward their objectives.
