Abstract: We first introduce the basic theory and methods of the normal form theory for dynamical systems or vector fields: Poincare-Dulac normal form, Takens normal form, unique normal form. We then present some particular problems and results concerning unique normal forms: nilpotent vector fields, Hopf-zero vector fields, etc.
