As a mature industrialized technology in construction, precast concrete technology is adopted worldwide. In this technology, integrated precast concrete structures are constructed via assembling prefabricated structure components in sequence. Varying significantly from traditional cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete is characterized by a series of superiorities. Those advantages include saving labor, eliminating pollution in construction sites, promoting construction efficiencies, better quality control and reuse of concrete components, etc.
This presentation focuses on planning and design on precast building structures. Research achievements and engineering experience on precast concrete structures accumulated by fib (International Federation for Structural Concrete) will be shared. The core contents of the presentation cover basic design principles, precast building system, structure stability, structural connections, etc. The foresight of development of precast structure is about to be discussed in the presentation.
