Jun-ya Hasegaw, Ph.D. Professor. The Head of Institute for Catalysis, Hokkaido University Japan.

Prof. Jun-ya Hasegaw received Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 1998. He worked at Osaka Kyoiku University from 2007 to 2012. He joined Kyoto University as an associate professor from 2011 to 2012. He then joined Hokkaido University and became a full professor in Catalysis Research Center from 2012 to 2015. He has worked in Institute for Catalysis of Hokkaido University as a full Professor since 2015 and became the head of Institute for Catalysis Director from 2018.

His research interests are focused on catalytic chemistry, theoretical chemistry, photobiology and quantum chemistry. He has published 135 research articles in SCI journals.

He received the 15-th Asian Chemical Congress Singapore ¡°Asian Raising Star¡± in 2013, Centre de Mecanique Ondulatoire QSCP Promising Scientist Award in 2011, Academy of Molecular Sciences Award and Young Scientist Award from Japanese Society for Molecular Science in 2009.
